1. Data we process
When you visit the website, technically necessary server data may be processed (such as IP address, time, requested resource and browser/device information). When you place an order, we process the contact, professional/company, interest, order and – for print editions – shipping information you provide, as well as payment/transaction references.
2. Purposes and legal bases
Order, contact, delivery and payment data are processed where necessary for pre-contractual steps, conclusion and performance of the contract. Where statutory retention or evidence obligations apply, processing is carried out to comply with those obligations. Security and abuse-prevention measures are based on legitimate interests in maintaining a secure and functional website, insofar as these interests are not overridden by your rights.
3. Stripe
We use Stripe Checkout to process book payments securely. Stripe Payments Europe, Limited or the relevant Stripe entity processes payment, device and transaction data necessary for the transaction in accordance with its privacy notice. We receive payment status and transaction references to fulfil your order. Further information: Stripe Privacy Policy.
4. Google reCAPTCHA
Google reCAPTCHA is used to protect the order form against automated abuse. Technical usage, device and network data may be transmitted to and processed by Google. reCAPTCHA is used solely for security and abuse prevention.
5. Hosting and technical service providers
The website is operated using an external hosting provider. Technically necessary server and log data are processed in this context. Service providers receive personal data only to the extent necessary for the relevant service and where a lawful basis exists.
6. Email communications
Order notifications and business communications are handled through contact@marioeduardgiovanelli.com. The mailbox is operated via Zoho. Email communications involve processing sender, recipient, message content and technical metadata.
7. Retention
Personal data are retained only for as long as necessary for order and contract fulfilment, handling enquiries, and applicable statutory retention, evidence or limitation periods. Data are then deleted or anonymized unless another lawful basis applies.
8. Recipients and international transfers
Depending on your use of the site, data may be disclosed to hosting, payment, security and email service providers. Where providers outside the EEA are involved, transfers may rely on an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards under the GDPR. Further details are available in the respective providers' privacy information.
9. Your rights
Subject to the GDPR's requirements, you may have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection. Consent, where relied upon, may be withdrawn for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection supervisory authority.
